Indian history has seen two parts: one in which we have seen a prosperous country that was on it's peak of art, culture, wealth, and scientific temperament, where we have seen empires like the Mauryas, Cholas, Guptas, and Pandyas who ruled major parts of the world. And in these dynasties, India has seen the peak of civilisation. In the second half, we have seen chaos and exploitation done by the foriegn invadors that attract to India because of it's prosperty. We have seen gajni's mughals britishers who tried to erase our history, culture, knowledge,e and the most important thing for a civilization the self esteem, self validation. They are unable to erase our culture, history and knowledge, but they have affected our self-esteem significantly. But after 80 years of independence, we have taken that self-esteem back in a lot of manners. It all started on 15 August 1947 were we put an end to the slavery of India. As former PM Nehru stated, "At the stroke of midnight, when the world sleep india rise to freedom." From this very day to today, we have excelled in many fields where the world was not expecting a country who has 90% illiteracy, had seen the worst migration in human history, communal violence, and demands of different states in the name of culture and language. Even the britishers have expected that we would not be able to build our own constitution that would make this country democratic because of its diversity. But we have built a vast and diverse constitution under the umbrella of which we are the largest democratic country in the world. We have built the ISRO Bhava atomic research centre. We became a nuclear power; we have fought 4 wars in just 30 years, and faced worse situations of drought and poverty. We have proved to the world that we are self-sustainable and capable of building a nation that can compete with the top powers of the world.
